Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy uses self-care, work, and play activities to increase ability and prevent disability.
Treatment focuses on using senses, movement, and thought to build valuable daily skills after losses have occurred as a result of illness or injury. Occupational therapists also help people adapt to their environment or rely on other skills to achieve greater independence and quality of life. Occupational therapists help people retain meaning and purpose by working on specific skills that are central to daily life, personal, or professional identity. These skills may be related to work, home, or recreational activities.
