Visitors

Visiting Hours

Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Family members and friends are welcome to visit patients in the hospital from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Visiting hours for Maternal Child Health are 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. everyday.

If you need additional information about visiting a patient, please check with the nurse. In special cases, we work with families and patients to make alternative arrangements in light of a patient's status or stay.

Visiting Regulations

Following are general guidelines for visitors:

  • Visitors are asked to refrain from smoking anywhere in the building or on campus.
  • Visitors must wear shirts and shoes.
  • No more than two visitors are allowed at the bedside at one time. Visitors in semi-private rooms should be considerate of both patients.
  • People with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
  • Visits should be kept short.
  • Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
  • Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when a doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.

Meditation Chapel

A meditation chapel is located on the main floor. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for worship services, prayer and quiet reflection.

Gifts for Patients

Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to a patient, to make sure that it is appropriate for the patient's diet. For the critical care or intensive care units, please check with the unit nurse regarding any gifts for patients.

Latex Balloons

Due to the risk of exposing individuals to the dangers of developing latex allergies, Valley Regional Hospital provides a latex-safe environment and, therefore, discourages anyone from bringing latex balloons into the facility.

Parking

Parking for patients and visitors is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All parking at Valley Regional Hospital is free. Patients and visitors are cautioned not to park in reserved designated areas. Please be sure to lock your car. If you need assistance with your vehicle, please inform the nursing supervisor.

Waiting Areas

There are specially-designated lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the lobby. Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the critical care unit, emergency department, and surgery.
