I came to midwifery from a background in public health. I have worked as a midwife in diverse settings across the world, from Boston, MA to Sierra Leone.
Midwifery care embodies looking at the bigger picture when providing health care. I try to see the whole person, their world, and their values and integrate that with clinical expertise and training to help them achieve the best outcomes. I have found that my patients want to be as healthy as they can be for themselves and the people they love.
I listen and take time with my patients. I want my patients to feel a sense of mutual respect and trust when they come to me for care. It is rewarding to connect with my patients. I strive to provide compassionate, comprehensive, respectful midwifery care. I work to provide my patients with the information they need—to empower them to make decisions about their health and their lives.
