LSVT BIG Movement for Parkinson’s Program
Valley Regional Hospital is proud to announce that its therapists, Erin McGeggen, OT, Rui Liang, PT, and Amy Richards, PTA have been certified by LSVT Global in its specialized movement program for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
The LSVT BIG® Movement program helps individuals at any stage of their disease to improve their amplitude and quality of small and large motor tasks. Our therapists help individuals understand their disease and improve their confidence in walking, balance, self-care and daily activities.
The program consists of one hour treatment sessions for four consecutive days over four weeks.
Program targets improvements in:
- Fine and gross movements
- Performance of daily self-care skills
- Balance and mobility
- Hobbies and leisure activities
